Показать описание
This Georgian townhouse in Gough Square (off Fleet Street) was home to the legendary 18th-century wit Samuel Johnson - the only one of his eighteen London houses to survive.

***************************************
Dr Johnson lived in the house between 1748 and 1759 and wrote his famous English dictionary here, but is probably best known for having his life memorialised by James Boswell.

This video shows you the statue of Dr Johnson's cat, Hodge, that stands outside his house, and then goes inside the rooms to show you the furniture, paintings and bookcases.
