Overall a good documentary but I'm curious as to why they deliberately undercut their message by creating a documentary that decries the lack of women's stories and directors that was directed by a man.

People pay for what the want to see.
Instead of using our tax money for the government to dictate what we watch like communists, make something worth watching.
I would love replies of great movies that are not political, not mushy like a Hallmark movie, and not some copycat like Ghost-busters.
Are women actually capable of making great movies?

Watching this right now and I'm sorry but as a woman, I found it pretty ridiculous. It's the Movies! It's not real life! It's someone's vision and creation being brought to life. The way women are portrayed will never change as long as there are men in the world. Just deal with it. If you don't like it, don't take the role. If you're unhappy with your treatment, quit. Don't go see the movie. Quit making cr#p movies with ALL female casts because it's only proving that no one wants to see that sht. Look at Birds of Prey...that was a pile sht. Ghostbusters, Charlie's Angel's, Ocean's 8...all sht.

Could have been good, but directed by a man, and actresses talk about women being used in movies just to look pretty while sitting there with tons of makeup and bleached hair. All that to please the audience. Makeup and bleached hair was invented by men for nothing else than superficial attention, and to look more attractive to please men. This is what we try to protect our daughters from! Respect to those who look natural and brave enough to sit there without a full make-over and enjoy being a woman.
The rest are just Hypocrites!
