Pro tip with your cologne: Rather than buying a small bottle specifically for travel, which is space inefficient (you're not going to go through a whole bottle, even if it's a 50/30ml) and price inefficient (bigger bottles get you more ml/$) get yourself a refillable travel atomiser.

Another great video. Thank you. I do like a bag with a light colour lining so my things don't get 'lost'.

Awesome video man! Exactly what I was looking for in terms of process etc. I got a 71 liter The North Face Basecamp Duffle Medium recently and I plan on using it for a Europe trip for the summer of 2022. The trip may be 2-3 weeks long. I was curious if would pack for about a week long trip and just wash everything or get as many clothes in as possible. I’d like to bring some casual shoes, dressier shoes (we are attending a wedding), and some sandals. Ideally that’s all I bring in terms of shoes but if we are doing a lot of walking I’d like my casual shoes to be able to be dressed up and down as well as comfortable. I’ve been eyeing the vans ultrarange exos. Just curious how you go about the shoe situation as minimally as possible. Thank you!

I’m a huge fan of your minimalism videos. You’ve seriously been an inspiration to me! I’m also a traveler and have been so for many years and wanted to give a few tips if you’d be open to it.

First, try to get smaller versions of each of the toiletries you have. So a travel size of toothpaste as an example. And instead of the very large white container for your toothbrush, a travel size container. For the sunscreen, see if they have smaller .5 oz to 1 oz containers. And see if they have smaller containers for all the others. If you don’t have smaller versions, see if they have them in the country you’re going and get them there - or if those aren’t available, place them in smaller containers, ie smaller containers. This will drop your weight quite a bit.

For cologne, get the 1.7 oz versions or use an atomizer.

Instead of packing cubes consider compression packing cubes. They’re a bit different from the packing cubes you have in that they actually shrink your clothing even more. As an example for your Tshirts, it would chop that in half.

For pants I’d avoid jeans. Jeans weigh too much, are hard to clean and take up a lot of space. Consider alternatives to jeans if you can. Something lightweight if possible.

For tech devices, consider trying to get even smaller but powerful versions. As an example, an Anker charger is about ⅕ the size of a standard Apple charger so it takes up less space. Or instead of getting a massive battery brick, something much smaller and portable.

You should also add a water bottle as that could be handy on a flight. Ie a Zojirushi mug. Or if you prefer to have it even take up less space, something like a Vapur Water bottle.

Finally I’d consider getting a different bag. Something like that would be very heavy to carry imo. A proper backback with proper weighting. Problem is you’re sort of getting the worst of both worlds. It’s a big bag but it’s not a roller. But it’s also a big bag without proper straps to use as a backpack. I think it should be fine if you do check-in. But I generally will prefer carry-on every time.

you could use compression packing cubes for even more space saving. The ones from Peak performance are amazing (since you already have their camera bag)
