Nairobi is just overrated. Poor leadership and corruption will destroy the country. Even some areas in Kajiado, Ngong, and some rural areas in Kiambu, western, nyanza look way better than these so called posh estates.

These developers should be named and shamed! They've ruined the Kilimani/Lavington area 😢

If you want a posh life move to the country side, buy a good size chunk of land and build your castle there where no one will encroach on you.

That house can only be a brothel but not a family house. In Kenya, no law works

Corruption is destroying Nairobi, I'm sure city planners, building plans approvers at city hall and even the governor is compromised otherwise this would not be allowed to continue.

There are two kinds of people you cannot convince that living and working in Nairobi is not worth it.
1. Someone who has lived in Nairobi for 20+ years or their entire life.
2. Someone who has never lived in Nairobi.

I stayed at an airbnb in Kilimani. I could see and could have even talked to the Chinese woman cooking in her kitchen at the next building.

Our shortsightedness here. Greed and corruption. Kenya is beyond Nairobi and the known cities. If we supported devolution fully, we would be building 47 plus cities all over the Country.

I grew up in Nakuru and in the 1960s and 70s. In those days, there were only Government Estates, Nakuru Municipal Council and Kenya Railway Houses. There were ample spaces for Children to play and we used to have inter-estate "Football Competitions" using a ball made of scrap paper. There was no overcrowding then because people lived in the rural areas. Now, everyone has migrated to town, and the small towns in the rural areas are dying because of lack of population while the Major towns are deteriorating because of increase in population. Do you know that Ruiru is the THIRD most populous Town in Kenya. All the farms are gone and if Uhuru subdivides his land and sells plots, Ruiru would be the 2nd most populous tow after Nairobi in 10 years.

They were.. It's long ago. The city is growing, let create another lavington, kilimani etc to further areas outside Nairobi

Simple solution: rename those areas; kileleshwa = mukuru kwa njenga, kilimani = mabondeni, lavington = mukuru kwa watastop kupigania lands huko na kuovercharge rent😂😂😂

Children are now developing Rickets. No sunlight to expose them to. No lifts to go down 20 floors. Carrying the luggage up the backache you develop. It's also not healthy for the heart. Power supply off for a while. Manually cleaning the staircases. It's tight and we know. Teach the residents how to live & what to do.

I personally weep for Kileleshwa because that's where I grew up. The area is so crowded. It's no longer the leafy suburb

Nairobi at least a radius of 10km from CBD smells like sewage and faecal matter.
Unfortunately, Nairobi CBD has become an open air market ndunyu and a packing lot

Corruption is killing the beauty of our country.

In the realm of urban development, Kenyans continuously evolve, reshaping their housing and infrastructure over time. What was once considered posh in areas like Buruburu in the 80s changed, what was once considered posh like Kilimani and kileleshwa will change, paving the way for new neighborhoods with improved amenities. It's not rocket science to understand how our communities adapt and transform, creating new standards for modern living.
