For anyone that thinks that Jayson Tatum is not the best player on his team, y’all seriously need help. The amount of gravitational pull that Tatum attracts on defense leaves Brown with so much space to operate and attack the basket. So Brown had benefited off that coverage against Dallas, and played exceptional defense on Luka. However, this team still operates with Tatum as #1. But Brown is clearly the best #2 in basketball.

Just because Tatum now plays like a team player..not going for individual stats people overlook him. Go look what Curry averaged when KD was there. Sometimes stars just sacrifice for the team to thrive.

Can someone explain the SGA crowning to me? The dude is nice, no doubt, hasnt won even a little, is only months younger than Tatum. And tatum has proven he can score 30 a game, took a step back for the good of the team

The only 3 definitely ahead of JT are Giannis, Luka, and Joker.

JT is in the next tier with guys on the come-up (Ant, Brunson and SGA) and guys on the backside of their careers (LBJ, AD, KD, etc…). Embiid would have a case IF he stayed healthy AND IF he could ever get out of the 2nd round. He can’t, and hasn’t, so he’s not ahead of JT.

JT is the top player on that tier. He’s ahead of SGA because he’s proven to be a guy you can build a title winner around. I THINK you can with SGA, but we KNOW we can with JT.

Jayson Tatum is coming off of three consecutive seasons of being First Team All NBA, is the best player on a team that just won a championship, and is one of the most versatile players in the league as a two way wing who can also guard the 5 . Talent wise, he’s certainly top 5. With that said though, I think you could slot him anywhere from 5-7 best player in the league today. If you rate him lower than that, you’re probably just a hater. If you put him higher, you’re being a homer.

I will never understand how anyone can pick Shai Gilgeous-Alexander over Jayson Tatum....But hey let the others fight over being the best regular-season player cause Tatum outgrew that early on. He knows it's about WINNING!

Can we talk about how SGA has had 2 great seasons and will be great, however he is so easily thrown into be top 4-5 convos and Tatum who has done significantly more in his career for longer hardly makes some peoples top 10? Name 1 thing SGA has done that Tatum hasn’t I’m waiting

Everyone anointed Luka as "MVP adjacent" before he was ready for it. He's otherworldly on offense, but the Celtics went at him on defense over and over again with great success. On the other hand, Tatum guards 1-5 and does it well. That's a huge discrepancy, which is why I have Tatum top five and Luka outside it.

I don't put non 2 way players in my top 5. If you're not elite on both ends of the floor, you're not top 5 IMO.

Whoever puts Crying Choking Joel ahead of Tatum is a fool. There are only 3 people clearly ahead of Tatum, he's on level with the rest.
