Dream Build BMC SLR 01 + Dura Ace 12speed

Hello friends of perfect road bikes! I have been fortunate in my professional, sporting and human life to have experienced the evolution of technology from analogue to digital, the evolution of society from communism to democracy and the evolution of cycling from downtube shifting levers to electronic shifting. I love the race bikes of the 70/80/90/00's for their simplicity, beauty, quality and above all spirit which is completely lacking in today's mainstream production... But when a friend brings me a pile of the best and most modern parts and a frame weighting almost what a fly does, my heart skips a beat too. It is a different skip than when I get a Campa C Record scratch-free RD but still... It's a different job but a perfect result is always pleasing... Next time I promise will be a true vintage video with bowden on the top and downtube levers!

Mám to štěstí že jsem ve svém profesním, sportovním i lidském životě mohl zažít vývoj technologií od analogu k digitálu, vývoj společnosti od komunismu k demokracii a vývoj v cyklistice od dvojpáčky až k elektronickému řazení. Miluji závodní kola 70/80/90/00 let pro jejich jednoduchost krásu , kvalitu a především ducha, kterého v současné mainstreamové produkci už zcela postrádám, ale když mně kamarád donese hromádku těch nejlepších a nejmodernějších dílů a rámu ve váze takřka muší tak mi srdce zaplesá taky. Jinak než když seženu šaltr Campa C Record bez škrábance, ale taky. Je to jiná práce , ale dokonalý výsledek potěší vždy...Příště už slibuji bude pravověrné vintage video s bowdeny vrchem a dvojpáčkou bez aretace!

Linda a bicicleta e sempre que vejo o sistema da Shimano mais moderno eu lembro do Craig Calfee que ajudou a Shimano quando estava perdida na construção do sistema eletrônico, ai ele ajudou a projetar como se é hoje além de ter sido uns dos pioneiros do carbono no mundo de altíssima qualidade competitivo, sempre lembro da Calfee por ser as bicicletas que mais admiro do mundo.

May i know the weight of these hunt wheels? i have recently build up a BMC teammachine SLR 01 with sram red and zipp 404 running tubeless, the weight is 7.3kg. i wonder if it is because of the wheels is heavy.

beautiful bike. I think BMC recommends hanging the bike from the seat-post rather than top tube to protect the carbon.

Why you use carbon paste grip for bottom bracket?

None of this technology will be recyclable, rescuable, restorable, or workable (wireless format, software etc.), or desirable in 20, 30 or 40 year’s time. What you have here won’t even look nice on the wall as an ornament or artefact. A very, very expensive slab of carbon and - soon to be redundant - software. You couldn’t even give it away to a poorer person. A service and spares would bankrupt them! I love the rest of your channel and will continue to watch.

as much as i like modern bikes with integrated cables, etc., they are nowhere near as beautiful as a 70s/80s steel bike with gleaming chrome 🙂
