Frankly I think this is non sense, assuming free will is an illusion has serious ethic implications. An illusion is a false idea and from it can be infered that because free will does not exist, humans have not ethical responsabilities whatsoever....I see irresponsability here.
All our ethic agreements are based on the existence of free will. I think neuroscientist should be more cautious and use their technical vocabulary more carefully and looking in to the ethical implications of what they are saying. I think there are mental functions that neuroscientist do not even recognize they exist, not even have a name for them, so they should use prudence with the words they use. We do not want crazy gun people become even crazier, feeling free from any ethic restrains because among other things, free will does not exist as shallow ethic sense scientists I expect much more from neuroscientists, please Heather: wrong answer.
