Madison County tax cut petition to appear on ballot

The petition to place a referendum on the November ballot for a 5-cent reduction in the county tax rate has survived an objection and review by the county electoral board. The objection alleged invalid signatures and fraud, as well as paying circulators by the signature.More than 1,500 signatures were found invalid, but the petition survived with about 275 more signatures than needed.
