Trinity Bay State High School students have an opportunity to be part of a unique learning experience in the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest, Australia.

In partnership with James Cook University (JCU), the school has been successful in securing funding from Trade and Investment Queensland to purchase the latest scientific equipment for rainforest research. The funding has been allocated to attract international students to Queensland, as well as providing an amazing science experience for our local students.

Trinity Bay students and visiting international students usually spend five days working at the Daintree Rainforest Observatory, where they will learn new skills and gain related knowledge. There is also scientifically relevant and enjoyable tourism-based activities incorporated in the excursion.

We would like to acknowledge JCU for allowing us as guests in the pristine rainforest research environment. We would also like to acknowledge Trade and Investment Queensland for the funding grant which made this possible.
