Wowza! That cover on The Faithful Spy! I’ll be looking for that when it comes out.

I'm intrigued by the simple, yet beautiful, cover on The Lion's Binding Oath. Looking forward to hearing your review. New subscriber. Thanks!

The Grey Bastards got a ton of buzz back when it did so well invthe SFPBO! I missed it then, but I'm glad to see it moved from self pubbed to traditional publishing (though I think I liked the self-pub cover better, hah). SPFBO books have been doing really well the past few years!

Oooh! Something I’ve actually read before you! 😎 I read The Grey Bastards when it was a lowly self-pubbed novel. It won one of Mark Lawrence’s annual ‘Self Published Fantasy Blog Off’ (SPFBO) competitions with really high scores across the board.

Very fun read even for this Nana. (Though my Nana status DOES require that I warn the masses about serious potty-mouth in this one - so be forewarned.)

Would love to see you review it on camera, Steve!

I just finished Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs yesterday, which was great. I'm currently reading The Secret Life of the American Musical and then I want to give Gods and Generals a try

Tell me how you think about "I Will Be Complete" because I freaking LOVED "Carter Beats the Devil" and am very excited yet weary about how that book will be. I didn't hate "Sunnyside" but I wasn't super impressed with it either (besides the writing being great). This made me realize that even the best of authors have slips and misses.

I just finished Tyrant:Shakespeare on Politics by Stephen Greenblatt. He basically goes through all the tyrants in the plays and makes them sound like Trump. I guess the guy needs to make a living. Now I'm in the middle of We Were Eight Years in Power:An American Tragedy By Ta-Nehisi Coates. Soon I'm going to read Ali:A Life. Not something I would normally be interested in but I saw it and started reading and learned that Ali's great-grandfather was owned by the family of Henry Clay. That blew my mind.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer (and all those Prussian Junkers who hated Hitler) make for good history reading. I'm reading The Iliad, translated by Caroline Alexander plus Why Homer Matters by Adam Nicolson (the grandson of the O so aristocratic Vita Sackville-West).

I am continuing my love affair with Master Trollope, and am reading Dr. Wortle's School.
