A PSA: yes it is normal to be bullied, harassed, and threatened when playing videogames. But it's still wrong. It's a huge problem within the gaming community and as a woman who games (and was verbally threatened with SA among other horrific things as young as 9 years old), I want to remind everyone that it takes strength to stand up to bullies and that sticking up for yourself and for others is not a weakness. Report, block, and don't let them get to you. If you wouldn't let someone talk to you that way IRL, don't let them talk to you that way in-game.

Two of my friends are profesional level gamers and gay af and its so fun to watch them punish assholes in games for being hateful. They're so nice about it too. Like no cussing or name calling just absolute defeat and then "hey we can join your team if you're struggling." I love them.
