"For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it.
If only we’re brave enough to BE it."

Man, lightning was coursing through my veins after she said that.

I'm 59, and I have never watched and listened to someone articulate a profoundly meaningful message as beautifully as this young lady did today. She gave voice to America's soul.

For four years I was glad I was not an American.
In 5 minutes and 40 seconds I became envious of US citizens.
If this young woman is representative of the future of your nation, the USA has a very bright future.

As an artist, I genuinely wish for more artists and people like her to be in positions of power, or at least have a seat at the table. I know so many highly intelligent artists that lead from the heart and think so uniquely that they would add so much light, wisdom and fresh forward thinking to a government. Artists aren’t made the most of in our culture.

So when I heard her during the inauguration, I thought, " who the heck is this???" Cause she was incredible! This was epic to an already great day! We can breathe, people. Spread love!

I can't believe how much poise she has for a 22year old. Poem made me cry "Somehow we’ve weathered and witnessed a nation that isn’t broken, but simply unfinished"

When I saw this young lady walk into view her yellow coat was like a light showing the way to a new beginning and her ground breaking poem brought tiers to my 74 year old eyes. Young lady you are the best and there still hope. Greetings from your Northern neighbors 😀

It’s not just her words it’s also how she recites them. I'm sure scholars of the future will spend many hours explicating her words. I’m not American and I found this very moving.

I think Amanda Gorman just temporarily blinded everybody with a metaphorical 100, 000 lumen torch when she showed us how to find the light in this "never ending shade"!
