The Honda Civic RS lacks the power of the US-spec Civic Si, but it is the only grade offered in Japan with a six-speed manual transmission. Honda introduced the facelifted Civic to the Japanese market, including the new RS model, which features a sportier suspension setup, rev-matching, and a six-speed manual transmission. Visually, the Honda Civic RS is identical to the concept from the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. The new bumper is used throughout the lineup, but the RS stands apart from the e:HEV due to distinctive emblems, darker trim, black 18-inch wheels, and functioning tailpipes at the back. Unlike the US-spec Honda Civic Si, which is only available as a sedan, the Japanese Civic RS is a five-door hatchback. Genuine Honda Access accessories might help to enhance the hot hatch's appearance. The centerpiece is a big wing evocative of the Civic Type R, although owners may choose for a more inconspicuous ducktail spoiler as an option. Other options include aerodynamic bumper extensions, as well as a stylish grille and lower bumper intake garnish. These are available with either a turbo 1.5-liter gasoline engine or a more efficient "Sports e:HEV" self-charging hybrid drivetrain. The redesigned Honda Civic will go on sale in Japan in September 2024. Prices start at ¥3,448,500 ($23,150) for the 1.5 VTEC and ¥3,998,500 ($26,870) for the e:HEV.
