I know dearest is a song about Kikyo but I can't help but think about Inuyasha's mother when I hear this because she always referred to Inuyasha's father as "My Dearest."

My dog passed away in my arms last Friday, and when this song came up in a mix, the choruses just cut deep. “Smile dearest, your happiness you see. I want to keep it always with me.” Felt like what she would say to me as I cried. “That day when we met so long ago. Suddenly I felt I wasn’t alone.” Perfectly captures the day I brought her home. “Here we are now together at the end.” I got to be there at her side in her last moments.😢
