I think benchmarking is where they run a game on maxed out settings on PC and see how well it performs with certain hardware, graphics card/s, processors, memory etc, to determine how many FPS they can get get and whether the FPS remains relatively consistent throught the game. Benchmarking for this reason doesn't really apply to consoles.

Big Red One was a spin off, and didn't count. If that was true, you'd have to count all the others, such as United Offense, CoD 4: Mobilized, and etc.
