It's an interesting wager in that there are so many good ways to respond to it.
I think I'd respond to "What would you say to God if...?" by saying "Oh. God. You're real! Gee, I sure got that wrong. I guess I'm going to hell for eternity, and I know from Christian theology that it's too late for me to do anything about it."

Instead of putting up a fight to the apologist, swing the door wide open and watch them fall through it. Then hit them over a head with a similar question and see if they can be equally as honest.

Pascal's Wager always reminds me of that guy from The Mummy, who cycles through every religious symbol trying to ward off the Mummy. It may have worked and gave him some hope, but he still got eaten alive at the end.

So Pascal's wager is essentially: you can't win if you don't play the lottery.

What if Hell is just eternal separation from God?  Then I have everything to gain by being wrong, since I would like to be separated from Yahweh of the Old Testament.

The god that I don't believe in doesn't really mind that I don't believe in him.

I first learned of Pascal's Wager when I was 14 or 15, in my Philosophy class at school. As soon as I read the description of the wager, I knew the problem - since, at the time, I was a polytheist.
I just don't get how people can continually use that argument without realising how stupid it is. It only works if you already think one religion is more 'true' than the others, in which case you're already a believer of sorts. I don't get it.

If, when I die, I meet God and he asks me, "Why didn't you believe in me?" my response would be, "not enough evidence."

I love your videos. Short and straight to the point. Keep up the good

they never learn, no matter how many times an argument is debunk they will keep bring in it up.

The other side of it is that if there are no gods, and you only have the one life, then you've wasted some significant portion of it on pointless religious practices in order to save a soul that never existed.

You know you're dealing with a fake god when the best line of reasoning they think they have involves an evidence-free coercive argument, rather than say, actually showing proof.

When people tell me "Why don't you just believe in god?" I tell them "Because I'd be lying, and lying is a sin."

A crap shoot indeed. A crap shoot about a load of crap.

You cannot 'decide' to believe something, but what you can say is that you 'just have faith', which is the same as trying to lie to the god you can't admit doesn't exist, which is rumored to be omnipotent, in which case trying to lie to him would be as stupid as the person who can't admit there is no god in the first place.

It is always the god and the specific version of that god that Pascal's wager lovers love to argue.  Catholic Jesus or protestant Jesus? Mormon Jesus or JW Jesus?  Or, are the Jews right and Jesus not a Messiah?   All one ever does when he or she brings up Pascal's Wager is basically say with a touch of arrogance, "how dare you doubt my version of my god!  I am right, so you must be wrong! "  All I ever do with these people is roll my eyes, grind my teeth, and walk away.  I do not have time for such idiots.

SO true.  I just go with the attitude that my life is a mirror and I react to the reflection that is cast by others? How I am treated is reflected back to them.

I like Homer's Retort, "Suppose we’ve chosen the wrong god. Every time we go to church we’re just making him madder and madder."
