LYRICS:
Hi, everybody!
We are YMO from Tokyo, Japan
We don't sightseeing
We dance! You understand?
We are the number one dance band in Tokyo. (aha!)
Now, 'Tighten Up' was very popular in Houston, Texas with Archie Bell & the Drells
Now, we are the number one! I think so, ha ha. (yeah!)
Tighten up, Takahashi!
Sock it to me, Sakamoto!
Hurry up with the bass, Papa-san!

Oh yeah, uh huh, here we go!
Come on, everybody
You and me
Sock it to me, Sakamoto
Oi! Oi!

Japanese Gentlemen, stand up please
Do the tighten up

"Sock it to me Sakamoto!" randomly pops in my head and I have to say it out loud and nobody ever gets it, I swear one day someone will get it and say "Tighten up Takahashi!"

As a kid growing up in 1980's Newark NJ, the thing to do for teens was have a turntable and listen to the latest. My next door neighbor had one and listened to all types of music, if it wasn't for him i don't think i would have ever heard this awesome awesome RIP MICHAEL NIX.

I feel proud that these guys would make a cover for a song from a group that came my state even tho they have nothing to do with me

The sound of Pizzicato V, 10 years before Pizzicato V. Every time I dig through the YMO back catalogue it blows my mind how much Japanese pop was influenced by them.

You can't tell me Nintendo didn't ask Charles Martinet to emulate this voice when they casted him for Mario.

Such a shy Japanese gentleman has now changed its image. I don't have a camera and I don't have glasses There are no people who have teeth. I'm no longer so embarrassed. This is a parody song.
