I’m think Christianity and other religions provide a sense of security. They make people feel safe by providing answers to the unknown. They say we fear what we don’t understand, and I think that’s why religion draws so many people in, it provides answers (whether correct or incorrect) and a sense of security like a blanket.

I’m not trying to start a religion vs atheism debate but there might a difference between the non-existent state back then vs after death because before you’re born there’s no existence of your consciousness yet but after being born you have a functioning mind and memory and so much more. It may transfer into another form that we don’t know of. None of that existed before you were born but now it does.

In Hinduism before you're born, well since technically reincarnated by default unless you attain Moksh, you're a different person or a different living being

I didn't exist before being born but that sure didn't prevent me from existing now. So why couldn't it happen again after I die? If something can happen once it can happen twice. I'm sure science can agree with that.
