Hot Tub Circulation Pump Replacement - How To Do it Yourself!

The nights are getting colder in Maine and that means Hot Tub weather!
To avoid damage cased by freezing temperatures, check to make sure your circulation pump is operating properly.
I found out mine was dead just by chance and got lucky. I've never done a circulation pump replacement on my Hot Tub, so let's give it a try!

The Hot Tub model in this video is a HotSpring Aria.

Most spas have one breaker. Only Watkins manufacturing (hot springs, caldera, etc) have 2.
Clear tubing does not become brittle, but does lose flexibility so you'll need to squeeze it back to round after removing your needle-nose vice grips. Not once in 26 years in this business have I seen clear tubing crack or break. Also, the 3/8" bleeder barb often breaks on older watkins tubs while handling the tubing, turning this simple repair into a real problem if the spa is full.
FYI, the copper wire on the back of the pump is the bonding wire, the equipment ground is the green wire.
I would not recommend replacing the clear tubing as the barbs it is on will become brittle and can break off when trying to remove the old stiff hose.
I will also point out that on 2 pump systems the 30 amp is the pumps and the 20 amp is the heater, but on single pump systems (not counting the circulation pump) it is the heater on the 30 amp.

I have a Hot springs Prodigy the circulation pump is running and producing bubbles heat is working jets all work but pump is making a humming noise.
