With John’s “Death”, I like to think of it as because John is shown throughout as an inevitable and unstoppable “man of sheer will” that although he has survived far worse and those wounds typically wouldn’t be fatal, its reminiscent of John completing his arc and being at peace and finally allowing himself to pass now he did what he set it out to do. Although he’s probably not dead lmfao😂

When you tease the audience with the issue of death, the plot can feel contrived. That's been done so many times in story lines that it levels down the film. Let there be cl pi sure so the film series is remembered as great, not formulaic for the sake of box office sales. There are plenty more characters for this fine actor to play.
