For many of the reasons you mentioned, I went with the Mic Mini. I love the size and weight of it, and as somebody who intends to be doing a lot of walking with it, that's important. I can tell you, the Mic Mini is quite a step up from my Rode Wireless Go where I really hated the weight of the transmitter on my shirt and purchased a battery powered lav mic to pair with the transmitter. The problems being occasionally, I would forget to either turn the lav mic's power on when recording, or forget to turn the power off and run the battery down. This required me to always have a supply of coin batteries on hand. I only got the Mic Mini earlier this week and have only had the chance to use it in the last clip of one video and a couple of test videos, but so far, I'm very happy with the results to this point.

Ive recorded like 8tb of 4k content this year. I've literally never needed the backup recording. The mini is such a great choice and is working great.

I just sold my DJI Mic 1 setup and went with the Mic Mini. They sound fantastic and they are much smaller. The 1 and 2 transmitter mics always made my t shirt collar sag, drove me crazy. I never once needed to record audio or mess with anything in post, they sound 10x better than an iPhone or Pocket 3 in camera mic. Save your money and go with the mini

Having purchased both prior to seeing this video, I returned the mic 2 for all the reasons you stated here - battery life, storage, size/weight- the mini is the winner. There is no doubt the mic 2 edges the mini out for over all quality BUT the type of recordings I am making the difference doesn't pull me away from the mini for all of it's up side.

I love the DJI mic 2 voice more but because of the budget I purchased mini yesterday. I am pretty happy with that also.

Mike 2 sounds much better, however the price difference is substantial!

Mic 2 sounds a lot better but the convenience of the mini is awesome. I have the Mic 2 and it's a bit heavy tugging on my shirts. Hopefully DJI can improve on the Mini some more later on. Awesome review, thank you!

I really like the dji mic mini due to its battery life, compact size, price point, and impressive noise cancellation, I felt dji mic 2 noise cancellation felt a bit off, great review!

The onboard recording of the Mic 2, is useful NOT just for "backup", but can be used without any camera just to do an audio oral history interview. That is gold!

3:07 golf channels, such as mine. If we need to walk away from the camera or have the cameraman at a distance, this feature really helps.

if you are trying to save money just get a used dji mic 1 over the mini. still a great mic just seems forgotten about since the 2 came out

Love the size of the small new one but no internal recording is killing me! This is essential for me, I want to use it and save recordings in it without having to connect it with the camera.
