My mom did this with us too ! Every Christmas our mentor came over and would read us the ingredients and we'd mix and bake and decorate the cookies !

I'm 42 & we still do this, me, my 2 sisters, my sister in law & all our kids & sometimes we plan a special occasion like a birthday party or plan it on our town's fireworks display night so the entire family will join but we spent the day making cookies & candies for our family Christmas gathering
