Antonio Vivaldi, born on March 4, 1678, in Venice, Italy, was a Baroque composer, violinist, and priest. Redheaded Vivaldi, known as Il Prete Rosso (The Red Priest), is perhaps revered most for his astonishingly numerous concertos, especially those for the violin, and for his compositions of sacred choral works, plus over forty operas. His most famous opus, „The Four Seasons,“ is a set of four violin concertos that paint the landscapes of the features of each season in vivid impression.
