Fingerprint unlocking – Android™ 8.0 Oreo

Learn how to activate fingerprint unlocking. Fingerprint unlocking can be used to unlock the screen, confirm purchases and sign in to apps.

To enable fingerprint unlocking you first need to set up a backup screen lock method to be used in case your fingerprint is not recognized. The backup screen lock method can be a pattern, a pin code, or a password. In this video a pattern is selected as the backup method.

I purchased a new Xperia X Compact from Mexico's Telcel carrier, phone came with Android 6 and fingerprint worked. Then went to carrier to unlock Phone and they did a OS reinstall with Oreo, now can't find the fingerprint under Security, do I need to use a UK based ROM in order to get it back?

I have oreo update with US version I bought off of Amazon and there is no fingerprint. Is there an update coming to put it there if it's missing?
