MSG is so good because it's not a flavour, it's *emotion.*

MSG is safe, we've used it since childhood, it's on the table in Thailand as a condiment.

MSG is why all your favorite foods from the 70s-90s tasted so much better. The reason people got so scared of it was because it was in literally everything from fast food to canned goods, and prepackaged foods like cookies, crackers, chips and especially ramen. The FDA started worrying about the possible health effects of so much msg and most companies stoped using it.

How do you know if your food contains MSG or not?

simple, if you know your food is delicious but you can't explain where the taste comes from.

I use MSG and lite salt together for some food. It gets the saltiness and the savoriness together.

-Me- : shocked

I question the use with fries. Anybody that had MSG by itself knows it taste like a mild version of salt. Sprinkling that on top of fries is going to do very little.

MSG need to be incorporated into the meal/food. Not just a topper at the need.

A lot of Asians are addicted to MSG and I hate tasting it everywhere. Some stock or lard is always easy to buy, make and store. If you have to depend on MSG to make your food taste good, then you're terrible at cooking.

It depends on what you cook, there are dishes where MSG elevates it's taste but there are also some dishes with delicate taste where salt would be more appropriate in order to balance the taste of the dish

Msg stands for monosodium glutamate basically if you were able to burn it. It will be orange
