I ran a "3 line" 2.64:1 first gear in a 500hp 78 Z/28 that was both a daily driver and a weekend race car with 8" slicks. I had a 3.73:1 rear so I opted for the 2.64:1 to optimize my gearing for launches as well as give me the benefit of the 3.73:1 rear gear for highway driving. It was a great combination coming off the line like I had 4.56:1 rear gears but cruising at a much more comfortable rpm. That transmission took more abuse than any munchie(Muncie) I ever owned. I broke many a Muncie in my day, especially ears off the case. I'd take a Super T-10 every day of the week!

Do you happen to know what Hurst shifter and linkage kit to use on a 69 chevelle factory 4 speed no console with? Plan on using this Borg Warner transmission.

The lines indicate what the first gear ratio is. I needed a 3 line that happens to be 2.64.

It all depends what first gear you want and your use.

I bought a chevy 427 and 5 line doug nash t10 making it a 2.88 first. For 1500$. They do make a 6 line. I think it's 3.42 first.

Brother you happen to know what it takes to mate these behind and LS? I read you have to have a special flywheel, I see the bellhousings are easy to get.

What if I already have the super t10 with gear ratio “Z” but want to swap out with the stronger “S” ratio, can j just swap out?
