Woodturning - Dragon Bowl from End Grain Black Walnut

preview_player
Показать описание
Huge American black walnut log turned into an end grain dragon bowl. The final piece reminded my wife to a dragon egg and skin of the dragon therefore the name of this project. Used my one-way easy coring system to produce two bowls out of this log. Due to end grain turning that made it a little harder so tried to be passioned to allowed the cutter to do its job. To add extra features, I added some wave effect to both to the top and bottom. Finished with boiled linseed oil hope you enjoy this woodturning project 😊

Well, to be honest I liked it much better without the cutouts. Interesting wood.

The wood grain on that piece is very beautiful. I’m glad you left it alone and let it shine for itself. Very well done!

Wow, that is beautiful. Always loved seeing wood furniture. Take a nice stain that brings out the grain of the wood, just love that natural look. It saddens me to see an old piece of furniture covered in paint. That just hides the beauty. Amazing bowl you made.

I love that you scooped out the core! It always makes me a little sad when that gets gouged out, seems like such a waste. The bowl looks great, David!
