Six Israeli hostages in Gaza ‘brutally murdered’ by Hamas

Six Israeli hostages in Gaza have been confirmed dead by their families after Israel’s army said it had found their bodies in an underground tunnel.

In a statement released on Sunday morning, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said the hostages were discovered in a tunnel in the southern city of Rafah on Saturday.

The bodies of Carmel Gat, 40, Eden Yerushalmi, 24, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, Alexander Lobanov, 32, Almog Sarusi, 27, and Master Sergeant Ori Danino, 25, have since been repatriated to Israel.

The Israeli military said that all six hostages were “brutally murdered” by Hamas, possibly only a day or two before their bodies were found.
