I grew a ton of cowpeas last summer and I didn't bother burying them. I just threw handfuls of dried black eyed peas on my raised beds. They grew just fine and they improved my soil so much that I am doing it again this year.

I’m definitely working on my “set it and forget it garden”. In SE Louisiana we are coming off our second heat wave this summer and will be “cooling down” a bit for the 4th of July (crazy to say that)

Hearing the hurricane talk takes me back to 2021 when I intentionally decided to go in to have my son 1 week before Hurricane Ida hit…I was already in early labor and fearful the atmospheric pressure change would send me over and I’d be birthing at home …so at 6cm dilated I strolled into the hospital to welcome him (1 day past him being preemie)…my moms house was wrecked 1 wk later with hurricane Ida and I had my mom, brother, and nanny (god mother) living with us (me and husband, our 1wk old and 3 older children.)

Honestly, great memories were made but life was a mess 😂

I’m soo glad I discovered you . I live in south Florida just off the edge of what’s considered central Florida . I really loved your yearly summary video where you reflected on the previous year. I wish most gardeners did that as I learned soo much from your mistakes. Thank you!

Growing in Central Florida in the summer is a challenge to say the least! Love the options you provide to keep us busy trying new things. Love my fall greens, so having Ethiopian Kale to try to get through summer months is a game changer! Would love to try it

I love your videos! They’re so helpful. I’d love some of the kale seeds. I’m new to gardening but me and my 4 & 6 year old love doing it and it’s a great way for us to bond. Because this kale doesn’t seem too hard to grow this would be perfect for me and my girls to sow, watch grow and eat together. Can’t wait to watch your next video.

Yes, good for you. I'm the same way with my summer gardening. I only garden after 7pm and run in and out of my house during the day to do short garden tasks in my shady spots.

Hello from Ft. Lauderdale, FL! Discovered your channel this week & have learned so much already! Started growing herbs & vegetables for the first time this spring (peppers & ginger ). My only child is leaving for college & needed a hobby, but discovered how rewarding it feels to grow your own food! I enjoy kale in smoothies, salads & even baked as a chip. Would love an opportunity to grow Ethiopian kale.

Great video ❤!
I guess I missed the screenshot of the banana plant 😂, kinda wanna see how that’s doing.
I would love for you to explain the whole peanut thing though. You just put the whole thing in the ground and it grows? I think you said raw peanuts…
So much material you have to cover for those of us still in the ‘baby stage’ of learning Florida gardening. 😉
