How to Use Instagram Reels Video Comment Replies

Instagram now allows users to reply to comments on Reels with videos, similar to TikTok’s video comment reply feature. Watch this video to learn how to reply to comments on Reels with videos!

To begin, open your Reel and find the comment you want to post a video response to. Then, tap Reply. Tap the camera icon to start creating a video reply. The comment you’re replying to will appear on your video as a sticker. You can move it around to place it on your video wherever you’d like. Then, record or upload your Reel as you normally would. Check out our beginners guide to Reels to learn the basics. When you’re done recording or uploading, edit your Reel with filters, stickers, and text if you like. You can change what part of your Reel the comment appears on, the same way you can with text boxes. Then tap Next. Add a caption and configure your settings, then tap Share to post it. The comment you were replying to, along with the username of the person who posted it will be visible in the sticker on your Reel. Above your caption, people can tap “replying to” to see the comment you were replying to. In the comment section of the Reel with the comment you were replying to, your Reel reply will be linked under the comment.

That’s all it takes to post video comment replies on Instagram Reels.

I posted the reply to a comment as a reel. It only shows up in my reels section of my profile. I don’t see any link under the original comment. It is just a few hour delay for it to appear or is there a setting either on my reply or the original post preventing my reply from being shown?

There is no camera and i wasasked if i wanted to reply with a reel to another (non reel) comment. How do i do that again without the camera button?

Is there a way to cover the name and profile picture of the comment you are video replying to? I tried using just a white rectangle to cover it, but then when the video posted, the stickers I had over her info disappeared.
