I've spent 3 years studying this interesting topic so far, and still can't get enough.

Agreed! Whatever has happened to the notion of personal space in this situation?

Did you know that this is the short version of a longer lecture?
You can find the link to the podcast of the other version by clicking the "show more" tab below the video.

Also, it is entirely possible to be social without people you don't know touching you without your permission :/

Now that's the subliminal message of his talk!

There are two of his talks @GoogleTalks here on YT, heck it out. If I remember correctly he is mostly all over the place no matter how long he talks.

Nice video...I am very interested in learning, Can one and What can one do 'consciously' to help develop our 'unconscious' brains? I think one answer would be Meditation. What else?

The "fuzzy picture" argument is beautifully illustrated by David Hockney's photo-collages. Look them up!

Damn I did enjoy this video, some of the information I had seen before, until it broke away for questioning at the end. Depressed people have the most realistic view of themselves? The child molester was influenced by a tumor on his brain? I've known people that have committed suicide, I also had an Uncle who died with a brain tumor. Those generalizations changed my perception from "I'm going to buy this book" to "ah no buddy, no sale".

you do not need psychedelic drugs to do this. meditation and certain forms of psychotherapy (ones that have a psychoanalytic root) can help one access this.

Heaven forbid we should live in a world where people touch you every time they talk to you. That's my idea of a nightmare.

This talk was too short, and it was all over the place. There was no build-up or conclusion. I'd like to have this guy to talk for 1 hour or more

For the sake of clarity, these guys need to come up with a different term other than "unconscious". You can't just say "it's not Freud's unconscious" and expect people to separate what they have already learned. It's confusing to use the same word.

Other than that, a fascinating lecture.

Bugger!!! Bugger!!! Bugger!!! It needs to be longer!!! I was not educated in Kansas. There are those who actually enjoy academics, and don't believe that the planet was created by a bloody wizard.

And how do they affect the unconscious brain??? I think they affect your conscious part...and also that is 'abuse' not something to 'develop' our brains :) peace...

So what does it mean that I saw the one picture of Obama's mouth and eyes were turned upside down on his face while they were upside down?

RSA -- just a general comment -- your videos are too short, pretty much all of them.
