Factoring trinomials with a not = 1

This video shows some examples on factoring trinomials, where the leading coefficient (a) is not positive 1. The technique that I show doesn't have a name, it was shown to me by a supervisor. The technique has been proven, so don't worry that it looks haphazard, as I'm cutting out several unnecessary steps.
