After many years of daily beeping, I finally figured out how to turn off the @#$* alarm on my Sportline 220 stopwatch. Hopefully this will help someone else:
- Press "Mode" (middle button) to enter time/date mode
- Press and hold "Split" (left button)
- Press "Start" (right button) several times. It cycles through a combo of 2 display icons: "date" and chime.
- Keep pressing "Start" until both icons are off.
- Release "Split"

You can not turn this stopwatch off. They make them so that the batty life is about 2 years, after that you can replace the battery with a simple LR44 sometimes called a 357 battery that can be found in just about any store that carries watch batteries. If you have any other questions let me know.

I notice that Sunday, Friday and Saturday blink, but I'm not aware these have anything to do with a stop watch function. Can you explain how to turn those off because they are visually annoying.

I wonder if you can be a little bit smarter and make the interface simpler. I was trying different combinations and I still can't figure out how to set the date and day of the week....and thank you for the manual instructions that you missed to include!

If it is always beeping like on the hour, you might have the hourly chime set. This can be turned off, click on the link to our web site listed on the video choose the Sportline 220 and on that webpage is a spot that says download instructions. Click on that link and in the instructions there is section on the hourly chime, follow the instructions and you will turn off the hourly chime. This should take care of the problem.

How do you go back and look at the split times?  Doing splits doesn't do much good if you can't go back and see the different times!

The 226 sucks cant change the date, it runs all the time and never shuts off so you burn your battery, They are trying to pack too many features into a stop watch. I just want to time some thing one from place to place that is it.

Any way to turn off the single beep when starting and stopping time?

I ordered this thinking I could use it as a timer. I want to set the time - say 20 minutes - and have it ring when the time is up. Is this not possible?

Do you have a stopwatch timer that has an alarm for every 30 seconds splits for example for exercising?

That is a very good question. Go into the time setting mode. When the time is flashing advance the hours until you get in the AM PM area. What happens is that it will advance 1:00 A, 2:00A until it changes to PM times and then if you keep advancing the hours it will go into 24 hour mode. You get out of it simply by setting up the time and advancing the hours until you see the 1:00a. Hope that helps.

Pressing two side buttons at same time does NOT turn this one off. Is it broken???

This Sportline stopwatch is so idiotic that once the Alarm is set you are stuck with it forever. I have tried 30 ways to shut it off but I guess a Hammer would be the only effective method.
