Using a calculator to solve equations using iterations. The trick to getting the solution to the equation.
Enter 2 into the calculator (or the starting number x0)
The press enter
Enter the formula, but replace xn by the ANS button on the calculator
In this case we enter
3 / (5 - ANS^2)
Press enter repeatedly
The numbers you get converge to the answer to the equation

Thanks. Good stuff. Why did you start with X1=2? I'm used to examples starting with X0=2, or X0 (Xzero)=whatever.

Does the iteration fomula come from the original equation? Can you make your own iteration formula if they don't give you one?
