2:26 Since viscosity describes the friction between adjacent layers of fluid (rubber?) and not solids, I wouldn't say the tyre becomes more viscous but (if viscosity really is a suitable term in this context) becomes less viscous (i.e. softer, melty, malleable as you said) and the friction between tyre and street grows.

People complain that concepts like tire management are too complicated for a popular sport fan, and I point them to baseball and cricket and ask them to reconsider their position regarding the people's patience.
