It was defamation. She fired him, got a restraining order, then posted that he didn't finish the job as if he'd just walked away from it. He should have gotten money for defamation.

I can understand him not returning her money if she kept all his tools.

The defendant seems like an honest man just trying to do the best job he can. Meanwhile the plaintiff's husband just doesn't seem like the type of person where ANYTHING will be good enough. I feel bad for the defendant, he was one of those rare people sued in court who come across very respectful and honest. I hope this episode was able to help him regain whatever reputation he lost in the situation where people didn't know him, only the Karen spewing nonsense about him!

She's vindictive. She didn't have to go on social media and ruined a man's reputation. She already had her sights on suing him. And they took his tools. Horrid couple.

I feel sorry for the defendant. It's pretty obvious that he is a hard working man who got pestered to death by a Karen and Kevin couple, who then had the gall to steal a bunch of his tools and ruin his reputation.

Fired him, stole his tools, and then got an order of protection against him so he couldn't retrieve them. I wouldn't have given them a cent.

I was surprised the she didn't hear a little more from the defendant. It sounds like maybe he couldn't finish the work because of the restraining order. If that's the case, it's not fair for the round-headed plaintiff to complain that he didn't finish the job.

She fired him before he could finish. She placed a restraining order so he could not get his tools.

The plaintiff is a thief (stole his tools after using an order of protection against him)...

Why does she need a restraining order? To take his tools! She could have told him on his last day, plz take ur stuff and leave. Pure malice

... did I miss the reason she gave that she fired him? I feel like the defendant got the short end here.

I also feel the defendant was hard working craftsman. Maybe he didn't finished everything in time, but I would be surprised if he would not want to finish it. She got a restraining order to prevent him taking back his tools, how can this not take into account? How can he be not allowed back into the house to get his tools back? I feel like she is really rotten inside and abused him to be honest. There is no reason to believe he didn't want to finish his work when tools of him are still there.
She for sure threw him out and he had no chance to finish anything.

Poor soul

She took his tools. She shouldn't have gotten the 1335.00

I am truly sad for the defendant. His tools for his trade all gone, his lovelihood gone, and JJ didnt award him for them.

Yes, she took all his tools! If you’re an honest woman, you would give him back his tools. She’s talking about, she’s blessed she won, and run her mouth on social media and called him a thief. Very wrong lady. Please give him his tools.

I totally sympathize with the defendant here. I’d hire him for a job if he was by me and needed that done lol
