Jesus the amount of ammo in those lockers. A lot of those kids must've been getting ready to shoot it up.

I think the pink goo has more in common with "The Stuff", a horror movie from 1985 about a strange goo that is sold and becomes a favorite treat, it's addictive and turns those who eat it into "zombies" who only crave more of "the stuff". I'm sure the pink goo from the ABC article played a part, but the movie is the clear inspiration.

"I dont think they'd be giving cigarettes to kids, even in the fallout universe". Looking at most pre war food cigarettes are the healthy option.

The latest holotape for announcements in the school is labeled Oct 22, and the principal mentioned it was Friday. This means the bombs would've dropped on a saturday and no kids would be at school.

Oxhorn's third theory as to why the ghouls are adult sized has to be correct...

That glow in ghoul would have been epic if it glowed pink.

There are also some raiders you can find near the Kendall hospital with a "intervention note" from one raider to another, it says you should stop eating the paste as it is making you agressive

I mean, if they wanted child ghouls, just use Billy’s model with a simple recolor

"Lots of weird issues with this school."

That's an understatement.

I always called the pink paste, “tubby custard” because it reminds me of it because I loved tellitubies as a kid.

The grinder INSIDE the facility made me suspicious, so I went back to some research I had done a few years back on what could have influenced the creation of the wendigo myth of Native American origin and found a couple things.

1. Human flesh apparently has addictive properties in its chemical constitution in similar levels to those of pain medications
2. The consumption of human flesh causes psychosis and increased hostility in those who eat it

I also remembered that a study done to test food for astronauts looked into the concept of blending or liquefying the food into a shake or paste like texture. Meat treated in this way had very little identifiable flavor.

In conclusion, the history of this charter school is much, much darker than many people would realize at a glance. My guess is that the government/vault tech was doing research on the effects of The consumption of human flesh as a possible food source in case of a nuclear fallout or other such apocalyptic event. I’m not saying that this is what really happened at this school, this is just my personal head-canon. but why else would there be a grinder/processing machine within school grounds.

My question isn't "why are the ghouls pink", it's "why are they naked?"

So, 4 years later, I stumbled onto the fact that Quaker Oats fed children in Boston radioactive oats as part of an experiment. The pink paste experiment was the first thing that came to mind.
