"Not a cheap system." And the iPad Pro, that costs like twice the price?

Congratulations Microsoft. The idea of the Surface tablet was ahead of its time in 2012. The Surface team must feel pretty good that both Apple and Google have validated the idea of the surface form factor within a matter of weeks of each other.

Anything with the Pixel branding turns out awesome. Dieter, please review the 5X. I honestly think your the only on one the Verge that likes Android.

Been searching for a new tablet since i really need it for bussiness life,

IPAD PRO, to expensive, -
Galaxy Tab S 10.5, lack OS Support, even XDA does not have Official CM rom.
Nexus 9, only 32GB?

and then here comes PIXEL C with Android OS M, Thanks GOD! Can't wait to get it on hand.

Some people say that this thing is useless since it's running mobile OS.
Yep, that's true. That's why tablet never really outsell smartphone.
Tablet is more for entertainment, bussiness class for presentation, and portable desktop.
Just because it's not useful for YOURSELF, does not mean it's useless for everyone.

Anyway, here's a potato.

I find it interesting that both Google and Apple have been influenced by Mircrosoft's Surface tablet. In the end, the consumer wins!

already beats surface and ipad pro with that epic keyboard, which looks extremely conveinient... but android... there should be an option for chrome os or linux or something

Correct if I'm wrong, but some phones already having 4gb of ram. Shouldn't a tablet a product of 600 plus should have 4gb, just for future proof?

The whole point of a hybrid device is to adapt as much it can to blend the line between a full computer and a mobile one. For it to accomplish this complex task, it is necessary to run a full desktop OS. That's the strength of the Surface. Microsoft knew it needed to build a device that could align itself in this area. Because it needs to run a full desktop OS, it was also the same reason it failed during the initial attempts. It wasn't until Windows 8.1 and now Windows 10 and the new line of Surface devices. Since Windows 10 has become a service-type OS meaning it will be updated more often, expect Microsoft to further distance from the competition. The good thing is that Microsoft isn't alone doing this thing, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc. are all in with Microsoft. Google and Apple know they have some serious competition and it's attempting to disrupt their precious mobile revolution.
