They were encouraged to go in. Some that were encouraging these people were the police and other officials. I watched ordinary television footage on the day and I was under no illusion that these were ordinary supporters, or just visitors, or tourists. Police flinging back barriers and deliberately waving them in. I was later puzzled by broadcasters and tv stations saying that this was an insurrection. Queerest “insurrection” I could have imagined. Absolutely disgusting charges have been brought against ordinary decent citizens. They should be freed.
