UP and northern Wisconsin are the same. My family is from the UP and ive lived in both the UP and in northern Wisconsin on the UP border my whole life before I had to move to Southern Wisconsin. Southern Wisconsin and northern Wisconsin are basically completely separate states. Personally I think the UP and northern Wisconsin should merge to form their own state.
