Ten years ago we officially launched Open Biology as the Royal Society’s first fully open access and online-only journal dedicated to pure cell and molecular biology; fields in which Royal Society Publishing had not traditionally ventured and in which we were relatively unknown.

Since this time, the journal is proving to be a popular place to publish high quality lively reviews, and novel scientific and technological breakthroughs. With over 3000 submissions and 1.5 million downloads it is has established itself as an influential international journal.

Over the next year, we will be celebrating our first decade as we look towards the future, we look forward to updating you on some of our plans for the next few years and beyond.
