Four weeks from now lawmakers will return to Frankfort for the 2024 regular session. A Lexington senator is challenging his colleagues to be more transparent in the way Kentucky’s laws are made. A new report by Kentucky’s League of Women Voters says a lot more legislation is moving faster than it should without the public's input. For those who need a refresher, a bill becomes a law after first being voted on by a committee of lawmakers then being taken up by the full House or Senate and, if passed, repeat the whole process again in the next chamber.

I have lived in Kentucky for more than a dozen years now. I have never seen less government transparency at the state and local level than in this state. A great way to create corruption and deceit.
