Two RCMP cadets fainted as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was giving a speech in Regina on March 9. Trudeau was naming Brenda Lucki as the RCMP’s first permanent female commissioner. During the speech at the RCMP Heritage Centre in Regina, two cadets standing behind the podium could be seen falling over during the announcement.

Having been in the military you see this all the time. Long periods of standing at attention. The blood doesn't circulate well and if you don't at least keep wiggling your toes on your boots. Boom. Down you go.

As a former member of the military I can attest to how difficult it is to stand at attention without moving for a long period of time. All your blood pools in your feet and you start to feel dizzy. Many a parade I saw people just drop like flies....all types of people!

he fainted because he was standing there for so long without moving not because of the event

They were inside. The heat was surely cranked. Trudeau looks like he is sweating. I've had a very similar situation happen to myself. New cadets, on TV, in front of the Prime Minister, in extremely hot uniforms standing shoulder to shoulder for a long period of time, then one of them faints (which probably puts the other girl over the edge when she saw that). Is this really so bizarre?

Woah, that's 2 in a single event. Tips before parades, make sure u have eaten not too full, not too light, and drink enough water to stay hydrated. During parade, while standing, move your toes around for blood circulation, so that u won't faint so easily. The second woman who fell just now was still ok, nothing serious. But the first guy that fell, he went straight face down, I believe that hurts. Hope those 2 patriots are fine. God bless Canada! Would love to travel there.

Well I hope neither of them got a busted nose. People faint, and it can happen everywhere...Weddings, military services, graduations.
High stress, uniforms and standing at attention are a recipe for passing out.

I always wonder why people need to stand for speeches when this happens all the time. Is taking a seat that disrespectful?

Wouldn't be surprised if they had their knees locked.

I remember once during my school scout drill i also fainted like this. Very hard man! Suddenly your head starts to swing around then everything will slowly turn darker and you will try hard to ignore that and maintain discipline because there are delicacies in front of you but you can’t, suddenly your eye closes and the next thing you see is some people carrying you to the medical assistant!

Everyone was so calm and collective. That's how the RCMP rolls! Thanks for doing a great job out there protecting Canadians every day, and every night!

Would have been nice to offer a moment of concern or a word to acknowledge the Member who fainted
Before carrying on.
They've all been through so much.

Lol gotta admire trudeau for not having the slightest instinct to even approach and see if they're okay. It's not easy being a lizard.
