Fanal Forest was probably my favorite thing on the entire island, the vibes were immaculate. I felt like I was cosplaying a very dark gothic version of Anne of Green Gables (Anne of black gables?) where my imagination ran wild and I even got a little spooked. Save these tips to help you plan your next trip here!

1. This area doesn’t always have mist/fog so you need to check for weather & cloud coverage before going.
2. Go EARLY! Like everything else on the island get there first before the big groups roll in at around 9:30/10:00. I got there around 8am and it was perfect.
3. You’ll need a rain jacket & water proof things.
4. Bring a change of clothes if you, like me, don’t want to wear a rain jacket and prefer getting soaked for the ~vibes~
5. You can get these views right off of the parking lot or further into the park if you want a bit of walking/hiking.
6. Fanal pond only has water if it’s been raining heavily for the last few weeks, which isn’t common.
