This was probably the best interview I've seen and heard on computer chips. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo communicated that the current chip issue stems from business decisions made over many years, prioritizing short-term profits over future planning. This insightful discussion highlights how American businesses' search for cheap capital and labor led to vulnerabilities, emphasizing the need to balance profit with national security.

Intel is the leader in building US chip factories. Not sure why they’re not getting publicity for this. This is a national security issue, should be top priority for investors too.

If you don't mandate those big fabless chip companies( AMD, NVDA, QCOM) and those biggest electronic consumer companies like Apple buy US chips, no matter how many fabs you setup on the US, for one penny cheaper abroad, they will not buy US chips.

TSM is one of the best managed companies in the world…said Warren Buffett. Did they steal the chips business from the US? I guess Guatemala farmers also stole the banana business from US farmers 😂

Taxpayers are on the hook for all overseas defense to defend these countries, so why not ask them to pay up and make chips here as well, cheap profits attracts the Congress and senate members

Jim takes side now, as expected. How I wish we can leapfrog 3 months, and spare ourselves this pain of watching CNBC in the next 3 months.
