Still love the one comment "grandfather talks with his not so intelligent but favorite grandson"

This was absolutely incredible and wholesome. When Theo made that joke about kid rock being trumps advisor it made Bernie laugh harder than I have EVER heard him laugh before. Bare minimum Theo gets mad props for that

Sanders is one of the only leftist politicians who understands how to talk to the right. Go on their turf, be empathetic and don't talk down to them, find common ground, and state everything simply instead of overexplaining and giving your master's thesis statement. It's why his fox News town hall was so well recieved, it's why Rogan supported him so hard as a politician, etc.

Theo is a charitable guy and Bernie is hella chill so that’s why that podcast episode was good.

That argument about socialized healthcare taking long is such bs. It took doctors here in the US months to get me in for a spinal surgery that kept me from paralysis or death. The main difference is that I will forever be paying medical bills.

Americans also "wait" for healthcare, by not going in, because they're afraid of the costs. Canadians with less serious issues wait because people go get checked for whatever they feel like, so the hospitals are busier. This is evidenced by OECD bed occupancy (2019). Canada had 91%, while the US had 64%, even though the beds per capita aren't all that different. Not only do Americans "wait", by not going at all, but around a million Americans also go to places like Mexico and India, for cheaper healthcare.

Canada has 2.7 doctors per 1000 people. The US has 2.6. (2020)

Canada has 2.58 community hospital beds per 1000. The US has 2.37. (2021)

The US has 12 nurses per 1000. Canada has 10.3. (2021)

I'm from Louisiana and I can say with full confidence that most of the men of the area think the exact same way as Theo. He is perfect representative for commonfolk. Have you looked into the Cajun Navy? Community is big in that area. Communism doesn't lack support, it has a branding issue.

Here's an anecdotal note on healthcare in Canada: My father was diagnosed with liver cancer, requiring a transplant. He was low on the transplant list due to slow growth of the cancer and a minimal amount of radiation therapy further slowing the progression rate. He waited less than a year to receive a new liver and stayed in hospital for two weeks after the procedure walking out not having to pay a dime. The system has its flaws for sure, but it works.

Theo Von is the funny, open minded, centrist comedian Joe Rogan PRETENDS to be 😂

Theo is branching out far beyond his peers and that is so sexy. Keep growing! .Gang.He’s smart. The comedians interviewing comedians podcast run is coming to an end.

Theo having Bernie on and telling him he wanted a Trump/Bernie ticket is important, because I think a lot of us either forget or ignore how similar both Bernie and Trump 's rise to popularity was. How both of them really activated and energized a base of voters that would've likely stayed home or just voted for whatever party they voted for in the last election. Seeing Bernie be crushed by the machine of the Democratic Party was incredibly demoralizing and turned a lot of people into either bitter doomers, or MAGA weirdos.

As a Canadian, the talking point about our Healthcare system is so frustrating. If you go to the ER, you will be seen between 1 and 4 hours. It's free. If you are in a serious emergency, they take you in immediately. The only wait is for specialists or appointments. Very frustrating

I'm not surprised they meshed up. theo has had stupid opinions in the past, but he seems very capable of learning new views and information. he just needs people like bernie introducing him to them because he's not the type that gravitates towards activism. he's not gonna find about political understanding himself. one friend like michael brooks would change him forever fast.

As someone who works in a top 4 hospital system in the United States people don’t realize how rampant and long waited some wait lists for speciality departments are. I’m not going to name the system I work in but just as an idea here’s some hot ticket “new patient” time lines..

Vascular Medicine - 3 months
Gastroenterology - 3 months
Cardiology - 4 months
Dermatology - (depending on the day 5-6 months)
Establishing care with a PCP - 4-5 months. Yes just to establish care with a freaking PCP.
ENT - 3 months
