Is Time A Single Block? Eternalism And The Andromeda Paradox

We are used to thinking about the past as something stable and immutable, and to the future as something that's somehow fluid and indefinite. 
That's how it really is?
According to the theory of relativity, past present and future can't be separated and split in a precise way and absolute, and this has some consequences on our interpretation of past, present and future.
Indeed, according to einstein, the future is real and fixed as much as the present and the past. 

When we think about space, we don't have any problem visualizing it as something that exists everywhere in the same way. 
We say that something is “here” in this point of space and that another one is “there” in another point, but both things are equally real.
For what concerns time, we think about it in a completely different way. 
Everything which we think is real is something that is existing NOW.

The block universe is real in theory but a critical point that needs to be made is that different frames of reference cannot interact with one another. They can only observe. Meaning that my future is unknown to me because it has not happened yet in my reference frame. But, my future may be known right now to an alien on a different reverence frame. So, his now "sees" my future and my now "sees" his past but we cannot physically interact with each other's past and present because our time lines are at an angle to one another. The God's eye view of the universe sees the actual chronological order of events in the universe.

Im so enthralled by this concept. I can never hear it explained enough. It is crazy that even though the Theory of Relativity has been around so long that society's concept of time never seemed to have evolved with it. One would thing this perspective would be more mainstream by now

OK. but space is contantly expanding, so why couldn't the same thing hold true for the fourth dimension (i.e., time)? Couldn't that expansion be what we experience as the flowing of time?

We will continue to behave and view the past present and future the way we always have because of our limited temporal existence in this universe and our senses. We have no choice, no matter what the mathematics and physics tell us. Einstein said our view of separating these three is an illusion. But every last one of us wont be conducting our daily lives as if this view is an illusion!

By special relativity, time can be considered an imaginary spatial dimension, with the metric ds^2=dx^2+dy^2+dz^2-dt^2. And then there's a space-time cone (the surface that light can travel) and all time and space outside of the cone is not available to us.

This is awesome! i could feel it stretch my brain lol, I'm trying to think of ways I can use this in art and writing now, it seems like it could be really fun to play with in an artistic medium. I've been saying for years that people really don't seem to consider much the possibility of events from different times interacting. I mean, for example, it'd be tough to catch if your past self walked through the living room while your current self is doing laundry for example, who would catch it and even if they did how could anyone figure it out/prove it? you know? and how many things might be outside our view? it's fascinating
