Lasko 6” Personal Desk Fan | Unboxing!

I think it’s not surprising to learn that I love international market fans. I love ceiling fans from India, Pakistan & its surrounding countries,1960’s-early 2000’s ventilation fans from Japan, USA’s enormous old window, attic & industrial fans, and China’s cheap & cheerful oddball fans. So when the opportunity to acquire a small US made fan came up, I swooped in & choose this without any hesitation, as this fan is arguably one of the most iconic modern US made fans, up there with Lasko’s 3733. It found its way here through my cousin who’s studying in the US (thanks Angie!)

Through watching YouTube videos from @fansgalorellc621, @JordanU & others, I learnt that this & the Air King version are some of the best new personal desk fans the US has to offer. Its got good reviews on its low noise level & rather strong airflow, the main 2 things people look for when buying small desk fans like this, and after testing this fan for a short while, I have to say I agree!

It is rather tedious to use this fan around where I live, as this fan is rated for 120V 60Hz & the electricity supplied here is 220V 50Hz. I have to whip out my step down transformer & plug adaptor in order to use this thing, and I also have to pray that the fuse living inside the plug won’t cut out due to the different frequency & voltage. But I think most fan collectors will agree that this amount of annoyance won’t deter me from using it.

Sweet! Those are great little fans. Might even say they’re a bit underrated. The plastic build might deter some people, but otherwise it seems like they’re good, quiet performers. Hope you had a good Christmas!

Nice! I too prefer the bigger US-made fans like the old Lakewoods and Laskos as well as Canadian ones like the Torcans I got recently over the smaller ones, but these are pretty excellent fans too.
I’m sure if the fused plug goes out you might be able to find a replacement plug online, there’s a wide selection of replacement NEMA plugs out there for pretty cheap.

cool fan i got 4 of them 1 being the air king clip version and their okay fans dont move much air though

Neat little thing. I wonder if it will survive being on 50hz or not since I have seen some that arent as accepting to 50hz.

I have the same fan and one with the air king name on both weren't made in china and I live in the U.S.
