I heard this song for the first time in years today in the fucking grocery store of all places. I almost fell apart in the goddamn freezer section. Every single lyric feels like it was written for a girl I used to love. It brought a lot of raw emotions back to the surface. I just had to hear it again to make sure they were real and it wasn't just a ghost.

Apparently the reason this song is so emotionally powerful is because lead singer Mikel Jollet spent three days in isolation writing this song the day after he (with his band mates present) encountered a former flame at a bar whom he realized he still had intense feelings for.

This is song is so true. It makes me realize heart break and loneliness are a universal feeling. We think we are alone in it but we are not. This units us all at some point in our lives no matter race or Creed. Heartbreak is real.

This song NEVER fails to touch me each tyme. I will never forget the first nyte I heard it. One of my best musician friends, the lead singer of A Friend Called Fire, was visiting from Chicago. This tune came on the background radio station. All other conversation was then "lost in a haze" during the next few minutes. We were definitely affected.
