I might be alone on this, but I think a well kept and trimmed ivy wall looks amazing and really helps bring the forest and nature into the bland and detached architecture of most living spaces. I'd rather have a wall built to withstand an ivy wall and pay to maintain it then to just rip it off because, "its not supposed to be there."

I love dealing with Ivy! The best part is that you can roll that up and just like sod transport it and plant it wherever! Nature is fascinating and amazing! :>)

I live in Texas, I would love to have something like this on the West side of my home. It gets so hot in the evenings that my air conditioner doesn't shut off until late in the evening.

Once I had an ivy plant that was covering up the trunk of a tree that we had. We thought the tree would have a huge trunk but the ivy was actually preventing it from grout any larger. We finally cut it off and now the tree is much happier.

Love the insulating aspect of having an ivy climb up the wall. Although the brick surface seemed affected, the overall brick structure looked in decent condition.

I bet that green coverage kept the house nice and cool all summer, and prevented heatloss during winter. I also wonder just how many birds had their nest inside it. 😳
